What’s a splash page!? It’s a page on your website that serves absolutely no purpose except as a gateway into your webpage. The splash page is the first thing you see when you come to our website. It just gives visitors an extra click to get to the actual website. Pointless, I know. Most people don’t have them. We do. We’ve had one from basically day one. From the days when I had no idea what I was doing.
But with that said about our splash page, do I erase it? Nope. I just changed it to make it look better. Call me a sucker for tradition.
Since most people have our blog actually bookmarked and get to our website that way, most of you haven’t seen our new splash page. So please, go see it. You can just click here: http://richandheathersmith.com. Just go there, click on the enter and it will take you straight back here. Go ahead… don’t worry, I’ll wait.
Okay, since you’ve seen it now, I designed it in honor for our Florida vacation that’s coming up in a week! And when you pressed the enter button, I’ll give you three guesses what I’m excited about (Heather is too… making just another reason why I love her so much). It comes out about the same time we go down to Florida!
I photoshopped the picture with this technique to make it look like the photo was taken from a special camera made in St. Petersburg Russia called the Lomo LC-A camera. Cool effect! So what do you guys think?
