Last Friday night, my honey took me on a date and we had a great time. We split one of the brand new (incredibly yummy) pizzas at Panera first, and then headed to our wonderfully cheap theater here in town (that we affectionately call “The Two-Dollar Theater”). We watched “Over the Hedge” and absolutely loved it. My sister told me we had to see it and that it was hilarious, and she was right.
We got home and realized we had no pictures from the night, so I asked Rich if we could just take one or two. I thought we were taking a normal, sweet picture, but no! My husband was totally uncooperative (without my knowledge).

So I looked at our digital camera screen after the first picture, and I caught on. No normal pictures tonight. So I gave in…

If this is the way it’s gonna be, two can DEFINITELY play this game!

Wow. I must have laughed too hard at Rich’s face in the previous picture, cause his feelings are hurt in this one…

Then we did one of the cool spinny photos that Nathan showed us, but I think between the previous picture and this one, Rich must have had a little something to drink…ha! Maybe I should stop making fun of him and try to smile in a normal fashion while taking the picture AND making it do the cool spinny thing. Maybe it’s a little harder than it looks! Or maybe not…

Ah! Now this is a little better…good job, honey!

Then on Saturday, I was so happy to hear that Kyle and Heidi (a college roommate and good friend) were coming through town on their way to vacationing in Florida. Rich and I met up with them at Panera downtown and had breakfast together. We are very much hoping that Kyle and Heidi decide to move back to Chattanooga, as they are currently living in Indianapolis.
Here are a couple of shots we took downtown on Saturday morning…

Then we took a goofball picture, and apparently, Heidi thought it would be funny to close her eyes AND stick out her tongue. She’s just crazy
Somehow I managed to look scared and appalled at the same time!

Then we headed to Trevor and Briana’s (another college roomate and good friend) place in St. Elmo. We had been there for about a half hour when Heidi decided she couldnt take it any longer, and she HAD to tell us the news. She told us that Bailey, their dog, was going to have a little brother or sister. So Briana asked a clarifying question: “You’re gonna get another dog?” When Heidi smiled and shook her head, Briana said, “You’re pregnant?”
And then we jumped up and down and hugged and congraulated while our husbands sat there, looking on with astonishment at the instantaneous transformation of 25 year old women into giddy little girls. Here are a few shots of our time at Bri and Trevor’s after we found out Heidi’s happy news.

I think my husband should be a photojournalist. Check out his ability to tell a story as it unfolds…

Even Bailey was excited. She is hoping for a little sister to play with!

The guys gathered in a safe place in the room while their wives celebrated with each other…

And in closing, a self-portrait of the gals…

Congratulations, Kyle and Heidi!!!

What a cool reunion. Congratulations Heidi and Kyle. You’ll love this next chapter. The pictures are great~
Oh Heather and Rich…are you next??
Yeah, are you guys next? Don’t make our kid wait too long for friends!
Oh, and what’s this “little sister” stuff? You guys rooting for us to have a little girl?
I’m waiting…..
yaaaaaaaaaaay heidi & kyle!!! congrats guys!! you girls are so beautiful; i am feeling so envious/sad that i missed the roommate reunio. i am definitely seeing a girl; maybe a nice little chica for max?
I’m waiting…..
Patience is a virtue.
Oh, it will have to be a girl so that when SHE is born on my birthday, you can name her after me! See how perfectly that works out.
So, everyone thinks we’re having a girl, eh? I’m not sure which I would prefer, although I know Kyle is hoping for a boy. Bri, maybe if we have a boy, it’ll be Brian, if he’s born on your b-day of course.
I’m so glad we got to tell you guys in person, it was so much fun…and it looks like we’ll be down there in a few months…more details to come at the end of the week!
Oh, Yes, Yes! Okay, Kyle and Heidi: you guys will have a little girl, whom you can name after Briana. Then, she can grow up and marry Max. Somehow I will tie into the story (maybe her middle name can be “Joy”), and we will all forever be friends.
Yes, Kyle, we are rooting for a girl. But, if it’s a boy, you can have a girl next and then he can have a little sister to protect. That would be really sweet.
Ok then, it’s decided. Briana Joy Chubby Bunny (after her mom of course) Posey will be born on April 8, 2007 in her hometown of Chattanooga! Cami will have to bring Max by to visit so that we can get an arranged marriage together with-in the first couple months. That way this beautiful (she will have to be beautiful, being named after such lovely people) little girl will have her whole life planned out before she is 1.
good plan.
So, has anyone informed Cami of these plans?
somehow this reminds me of the sagas we used to post on the whiteboard, something akin to the heatherella odyssey. definitely briana joy chubby bunny posey…it just would not be the same without the chubby bunny bit. i think a celebration of birth & arranged marriages ought to merit another reunion.
Oh, dearest Cami! Another reunion would be WONDERFUL. In fact, the previous post could not really be called a reunion since you were not there. I hesitated to even call it such. It felt disrespectful to denote that we could even have a good time together without you, my lovely one. I miss you like CRAZY and CANNOT WAIT to meet Max (and Andy!!!).
Briana, if of course we have a little girl, and she is born on your birthday, naming her Briana might be fun, but I think it would be more fitting to name her Brianana…nana
On the other hand, Heidi thought it would be fun to name our kids after cheeses…Brie being the first. ANd if we had twin boys we could name them Colby and Jack. Or Munster and Gorgonzola. Or twin girls would be Brie and Feta. The possibilities really are endless.

Brousse
Ricotta
Stilton
Edam
Gouda
Emmental
Wow, Kyle, you’re right! It IS endless!
Ha! KYLE!!! May I be the first to beg of you NOT to name your children any of the above…. unless that is, you’re sadistic and you want your children to be the laughing stock of their schools. Even the teachers woud have a hard time not cracking up and two kids named after cheeses. You are the cheese.
He is a cheese. And, let me assure everyone, we WILL NOT be naming any of our kids after cheese! I laughingly joked to Kyle that it would be funny to name our kids after cheese…funny yes, was I serious…nope!
I just wanted to set the matter straight. Rich & Heather, are ya’ll gonna be around this weekend? We’re coming in town again to look at houses! We come in Friday & leave Monday aftertnoon. Give us a call/email, let’s get together if you’re going to be around!
