Most of you know that Rich is an incredible photographer, and that he incessantly takes great pictures wherever we go and whatever we do. However, he had not yet shot an actual session for anyone…until last month in early December (pardon another belated blog post!).
My wonderful boss, Tony Souder, wanted a photo shoot of his beautiful family from which to choose a Christmas card for a few hundred friends of the family and friends of the ministry. So, we went to beautiful Coolidge Park on a partly sunny (and chilly!) Sunday afternoon and spent a couple of hours with the Souder family, and this is a sampling of what Rich got:
Rich grabbed a quick shot of me…
And a fun self-portrait to end the shoot!
Anyone want to echo my sentiments that my man is a brilliant photographer?
:)

Those pics are awesome Rich!
Rich, Those are really great pics! The colors are awesome. Heather, that picture of you is really good…sorry Rich, but I cannot give you credit for how beautiful my sister is…she got that entirely from ME!
Rich, we need to book an appointment for March when Jon and I come out. Wer haven’t taken pictures in forever. The Christmas pic is the only one we have from the last like 3 or 4 months (and it is way grainy)! Yikes.
Love you bro. Keep up the amazing work. God has given you a real gift there. They are beautiful pictures.
your first photo shoot? your FIRST photo shoot?
brilliant is an understatement. way to go Rich!!!
Seriously - go give that Holritz family something to be afraid of. They never should have told you about taking the lens cap off.
Great pictures Rich! It’s been very cool to see all of your work over the past several months.
So………if you’re that good of a photographer, you need to quit your day job and go for it! And if you become a photographer, you don’t need to necessarily live in yucky old Chattanooga (mold spores, cold weather, gloomy days, pine allergies…) so if you don’t need to necessarily live up there, you can move HERE to sunny South Florida!
See ya soon!
Good. It’s settled, then!
love,
Mom

Thanks Jason but I have LOOOOOOONG way to go before I can even be compared to the Holritz!
Rich the way I see it is that you have already come a LOOOOOOOOOOONG way! I cant wait to shoot with you this year. You can be my standard second anyday
Amazing!!! And your post-process is AMAZING!!!! Those colors POP!!!
Sweet!
Good stuff Rich!
I, Amber Elliott challenge you, Richard Smith to a duel. (Except you will be doing all the work and I will watch and then benifit from your work. In fact, it is not a duel at all because there is no fighting of any sort - No swords, no guns, no knives). Okay, so I challenge you to a battle of whits, talent and brains. If you can come to South Dakota and still take amaing pictures that have vibrant color (good luck) then I will move to Chatt-town and be your assistant! Sound good?
Hey Rich! I am a friend of Stephanie’s (one of the twins from SC). Your photos are TERRIFIC!! Since, it seems you just started big time photographing, how do you recommend me learning more about photography? We have a Canon Rebel and it is terrific, but I am a total nerd and have no clue how to use all the great features….any advice? THANKS in advance!
Thank you so much for directing me to your blog. I can’t wait to see your next pictures. I am a friend of Stephanie Blakiston(she will forever be known as KILDAY to me.) When I finally get a good camera I hope I can take at least one or two shots like these that you have done. AWESOME!!!
