Well, before we left for vacation last week (fun family pictures soon to come!), Rich and I ventured off to our doctor in hopes of finding out whether God is giving us a boy or girl.
At the suggestion of some friends and family members, I decided to treat myself to a caffeinated beverage to encourage as much, uh, anatomy-bearing baby movement as possible!
And so, with my Cinnamon Dulce Starbucks Latte in one hand and my sweet husbands hand in the other, I made my way into the now-familiar ultrasound room.
Here I am waiting for Dr. Barker to enter the room, pretty giddy from anticipation…or is that the sugar and caffeine???
And there’s the baby bump…growing ever-so-steadily…
Here we are with the the ultrasound photo that made us completely ecstatic and even more ready to meet our little one!
And here we are with Dr. Barker. Yep, he’s young, but he is smart, kind, considerate, informative, and, best of all, he is a Christian! What more could we ask for? We hope he is on-call when I go into labor, because Rich and I just love him and want him to deliver our baby!

And so, there you have it! We are pleased to announce that Baby Smith is a girl! Now is the time for all of you intuitive friends and family members to comment and brag that “you just KNEW it was a girl!”
…but I really did KNOW it was a girl
