just the three of us…

Well, this past week was very surreal and quite bittersweet. I worked my very last week at my job with the Chattanooga Youth Network, after a great 3 years. It has been my one and only job since Rich and I got married 3 years ago, and it has been a source of blessing and positive challenge. Thursday was my last day, and my boss made me feel very special with a cake and a farewell celebration. Alas, good things come to an end…

…And we are also at the very beginning of a brand new journey! With only 3 weeks until Alana’s due date, we have quite the transition coming up! My decision to quit my job was an easy one to make since I want to be home with Alana. But it was also the result of my desire to come alongside Rich and become the official “office manager” for Rich Smith Photography. I am excited about this opportunity we have to be a team, and to build this business from the ground up! It is intimidating to walk through the doors that are opening, but we are confident that God is the orchestrator of all that has transpired this past year. And so, I will be the one to answer email inquiries, learn our bookkeeping software (Quickbooks), and help to keep things running smoothly so that Rich is freed up to go kick butt with his stellar photography!

Rich, Alana, and I ventured over to the gorgeous Chickamauga Battlefield on Friday evening to meet up with our very talented, very dear friend Nathan Holritz. We spent some time together capturing this precious season in our lives…awaiting the arrival of our first little one.

We love the way the photos turned out, and want to share them with you! And so, here is our maternity session! Enjoy!

Awesome pictures. I am so excited you didn’t get rained out!! My favorite ones are the 4th and fifth one down. They are all so beautiful, but I love the scenery. Happy day! Hope you are having an awesome weekend. Heath, I will call today. You better pick up your phone! Love you.

Yay! Thanks for sharing the pics. Heather, you’re going to do great at home. Alana will be so blessed as well as Richard. I’m very happy for you three and excited about her arrival and the start of the photo business. You couldn’t have a more photogenic moment than your family. Good luck with the bookkeeping. And when in doubt, ask Alana! With you and Rich as parents, she’ll be a wiz kid!

The one with the tree looks like an album cover. Maybe you three should start a band! 🙂 I love all the fall colors. I wish we had that down here. Boring old hottness! I wish for cold weather! (yeah right, like that’ll ever happen)
