belated christmas posting…

This year, we did a HORRIBLE job of documenting our family vacation together for Christmas, but Rich did manage to grab some shots of my immediate family with Alana. I wanted to go ahead and post them for posterity, even though we are now well into January.

These were taken while my family was up for the holidays, and I will always treasure photos of my parents with our little daughter! Brand new grandparents! Hard to think of my parents this way, since they are still so young to me. They are loving it, and they are simply amazing with Alana. Now I can see why I have always felt so loved and cherished…they are so tender and sweet with her; talking, singing, bouncing, and just generally incredibly kid-savvy people. I love them, and it’s so fun to see them with her. She’s got them wrapped around her little finger:)

Thank you to my amazing hubby for catching these images!

Mom totally didn’t have time to go through the garage for their stockings before they left to come up, so we had to improvise: Cheap Target stockings with a little black sharpie action! The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, but they weren’t the prettiest we’d ever seen!

Here is Uncle Shawn with Alana. He is going to be the greatest uncle, and is anxiously awaiting the day when Alana gets a little older and able to interact a little more. He will be teaching her how to surf, and how to play basketball, baseball, football, and maybe even some soccer and skateboarding;)

And here is Alana with “Aunt Amber,” which Amber emphatically hates to be called. She thinks it sounds awful, and is waiting for Alana to be able to talk and make up her own name for her aunt!

Here is Christmas Alana. We had several Christmas outfits as gifts for her, and didn’t even get a chance to take her picture in all of them. Here is one, and you can tell that she is just tolerating the madness. I wondered how comfortable this thing was, so we didn’t keep her in it for long.

That, and everything just gets spit up on anyway:)

And here is Alana in a super cute outfit from my dear friend Kellie. She was adorable in it!

Rich is…well, it’s a long story. But trust me, we were having a laugh.

Okay, that should do it. Next year, I’ll aim to get a Christmas post up before the end of the year. What a concept.
