Happy Valentines Day, everyone!
Last night, Rich and I had the immense pleasure of attending Corey McNabb’s Smoochbooth Soiree in Asheville, North Carolina! I’ll talk more about the Smoochbooth in a moment (and post photos!), but first I’ll give some commentary on our getaway!
Rich and I happen to have our exact half-year wedding anniversary on Valentines Day. Since we were married on August 14th, today is our 4.5 year anniversary. So to celebrate, and to simultaneously enjoy Corey’s invite, we drove to Asheville yesterday afternoon. When we checked into our hotel where we’d requested a king sized bed, we were told that the only rooms available contained double beds. The hotel had overbooked and bumped us from our fabulously large, comfortable bed.
So we were left with the decision to cram our (not tiny) selves into a double — or sleep separately.
On our anniversary. On Valentines Day. On our very first night ever away from the baby.
Wow. Great options. 🙂
We checked in, showered, got ready for the party, ate a nice dinner, and headed to Corey’s studio for the soiree! It was my first time at the studio, and Rich’s second (since he’d attended the Rockstar Workshop back in March). The decor to go along with the smoochbooth was incredible!
An amazing smoochbooth ice sculpture…
An incredible smoochbooth pound cake which proved to be truly delicious!
The smoochbooth paraphernalia…
And here we are in the smoochbooth!!!
And with Nathan and Amber…
Rich with the one and only Corey McNabb…
And all six of us! Corey and Jill, Nathan and Amber, and Rich and myself! 🙂
The only letdown from the getaway was that I had a horrendous headache most of the day yesterday and into the evening. We would have loved to stay much longer at the party, especially since we drove 3 hours to attend, but I was feeling worse every passing minute.
As Rich and I returned from the party and snuggled into our respective beds last night, he rolled over in my direction and said “Happy Valentines Day, roomie.” I giggled and whispered back at him, “Goodnight, buddy.”
Ah, the romance of it all.
Here’s hoping you and your honey didn’t end up in separate beds this Valentines Day 😉
