You read that right.
But it’s not quite as dramatic as it sounds, because I was the “second shooter” for my wonderfully talented man. I was able to shoot to my hearts’ content and gain experience — without the pressure of a primary photographer. Rich has been an amazing teacher/coach/mentor, and I’ve loved every second of learning over the past few months. I’ve picked his brain about the various components of photography and discussed ISO, aperture and shutter speeds until my brain was fried. Date nights have consisted of lively chats about the rules of composition, and our miniscule amount of free time has been spent photographing each other with Alana
It’s true, our lives of late have been photography-directed, but hey, what can you expect when you run your own business? It’s our passion, our interest, and our livelihood! Suffice it to say, I was thrilled for the opportunity to shoot alongside Rich and help him do his thang!
Josh and Stephanie’s wedding was beautiful, meaningful, and loads of fun. These two are just naturals in front of the camera! If you have not already seen their amazing engagement session on Rich’s blog, check it out here! And while you’re there, you need to check out Rich’s teaser wedding blog post from earlier today. He and I are prepping for an ultra busy weekend, so the main wedding blog will be posted sometime next week. So, this will also serve as a quick “teaser post” until the primary post is ready for Rich’s blog – be sure to stay tuned for the rest of the images!!!
For now, I will just post a few of my favorite images from the day.
Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in public, photos by Heather Smith with the official Rich Smith Photography logo on them!!! How excited am I???

Thank you, honey, for being willing to take a chance on me! Thank you for your time, patience, and encouragement. Thank you for your confidence in my ability – I am so blessed and honored to be your wife, and to be learning from you! I hope I’ve made you proud!
And to Josh and Stephanie, I hope that you’ve enjoyed these few photos from your amazing day. Congratulations, you two, and may God be glorified in your marriage! It was a privilege to be part of your day!
