summer vacation part two: john’s wedding

Okay, here goes vacation blog part two!

Rich, Alana and I had already spent the majority of our time in Fort Lauderdale when Nick and Amber came down. It was sad, but this year the trip did not entirely coincide for us because of work schedules! We immensely enjoyed our time with my parents and bro Shawn, but then it became even more fun when Nick and Amber showed up and we were ALL together. That’s my favorite way to be:)

We all had an awesome, fun, delicious dinner at Cheesecake Factory on Las Olas Blvd. to celebrate both mom and Amber’s birthdays on Friday night after Nick and Amber got in. We waddled our overstuffed bodies back to the house and relaxed, ate our cheesecake, opened birthday gifts, watched some hilarious YouTube videos, and laughed in an effort to burn a fraction of the calories we’d consumed…

Then, Saturday morning (the day of my cousin John’s wedding), mom, Amber and I headed off to a brunch for his beautiful bride, Kathryn. We so enjoyed meeting her family and the bridesmaids. Rich grabbed a few photos of us before we left for the luncheon:

Then we dragged silly dad into the mix…he’s SO cute.

Pixie and Nick at the wedding (pronounced by Alana as “Diddy” and “Guck”) So aesthetically pleasing, I know:)

The ceremony was beautiful and in the time that we waited for the reception to begin, we let Alana run around in this hallway outside of the reception hall. I had my camera out the entire time since it was one of only two evenings that we would all get to be together!

We had fun entertaining Alana and wow…I was so thankful for this space where she could run and be silly while we waited. And the beautiful light pouring in through the windows didn’t hurt either!

Oh, she was in a silly mood!

And so were these two…

At one point, while I was trying to take a picture and Alana was staring off into space, someone told her to smile for the camera. If you know us at all, you know we are not “look at the camera and smile” people, but we all cracked up hysterically when Alana responded with this face. It looks like a cross between a smile, a wink, and a grimace!!!

I had fun snapping away while everyone played:

I’ve been doing a horrible job of taking pictures of Rich and Alana lately, so I compensated here. So cute.

Thank you SO much to Rich for these shots of Alana and mommy!

My dad’s business partner and a dear friend of our family, “Mr. Dave”, graciously acquiesced when we asked him to take a family photo for us. Thank you so much, Mr. Dave! We love you!

My completely adorable, sweet, wonderful parents. I want to be like them when I grow up.

Siblings! I can’t remember if my mom or dad took this photo of us but I love it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the sibling family resemblance as much as I do in this picture.
