birthday picnic…

For Rich’s birthday last Wednesday, he requested a picnic lunch at the park before having Alana babysat for our dinner and a movie date that night.

So, I rummaged through our garage to find this; a very, very cool picnic basket that we’ve had since we got married 5 years ago. We’ve never used it, and well, it was time to put it to use.

I spent the morning making sure that some of Rich’s things made their way into the basket, and off we went to the park!

Rich’s birthday lunch included a Boar’s Head turkey sub from Publix, fresh kiwi, Zapp’s potato chips, lemonade, and mayday cookies from the Break Basket, our incredible local bakery!

It was a beautiful, sunny day, but about three minutes after we sat down to eat, it started raining. It was sporadic rain, so we couldn’t decide whether to stay and eat or head back to the car and leave.

So we ended up taking shelter under a huge tree and waiting to see…

And then let Alana play on the playground for a bit!

Kisses for daddy:

Big girl! Climbing up to the slide all by herself!

And some sliding fun…

And then the rain came harder and we had to abbreviate our trip…so sad! But Rich enjoyed our family time so much, and our date night was amazing!

Glad you guys had a fun picnic. And a fun birthday, Rich. How were those cookies from “The ‘Break’ Basket?”
