fall sights and random textures: part two

We’ve had some beautiful warm sunny days this week, and although there has been a cool breeze blowing, Alana and I decided to lay on a blanket in the front yard a few days ago. While lying there with her, I grabbed my camera and started looking for cool colors and textures…and this blog post is a result of my quest.

I was using the 100 mm macro and because I was shooting at f/2.8, I have a super shallow depth of field in many of these which is fun and adds interest to the texture shots, in my opinion 🙂

No photoshop – just a fiery red tree in our side yard!

The lone leaf…

I don’t know why, but when I shoot nature, I just love to isolate pieces/components of the whole – for some reason, it’s just more moving to me than shooting things in their entirety.

Most trees and branches are now bare, but as you can tell in the background of this photo, there are still some colorful blooms left. I love this photo.

More fun with texture…

Hope you enjoy! Happy Wednesday everyone!
