Well, I write this final Hawaii post from my home.
Yes, we are back in Chattanooga, and we are completely exhausted from the trip back. We left Hawaii at 9:30 pm (hawaii time) on friday and flew all night long, arriving back in chattanooga at 1:30 yesterday afternoon. We lost five hours coming back to our eastern time zone and did not manage to sleep much at ALL on the plane. So, this post will have to come without much commentary because I’m not feeling too articulate at the moment!
These are just the last few photos from our remaining two days in Hawaii…we miss it already!
Rich and I wanted to be SURE to take photos near the resort entry. We loved this place so much it was ridiculous.

Here is Rich shooting during our session for Leslie and Leigh. Those photos will appear on Rich’s blog before too long, but he has a few sessions to post before theirs, so check back!
I know I’m a broken record but he’s my hero. I’m just gonna keep saying it until forever.

Our resort was a non-verbal marketing lesson in branding! They had a great logo, and it was EVERYWHERE. Talk about saturation! I’m impressed by whoever runs their marketing department, because they know what they are doing. We saw the logo in places that you’d never expect a logo to be, and it was always done tastefully. Made me want to get really creative with our RSP logo!![]()
Here is one example, though I could have taken photos of dozens of examples! I saw this tee box marker on the golf course and loved it.

Here are some vintage postcards I found while in Hawi, and I loved them so much I had to take a photo before I sent them out! I’m a nerd, but I just can’t help it. When something makes me happy, I have to take a photo. It’s a disease![]()

And here is another happy find! We were in the Starbucks in Waikaloa Village for a shopping trip the day after Thanksgiving, and as I was getting my drink, Rich grabbed this WONDERFUL Hawaii Starbucks card. He asked the barista if a person could get one of them just anywhere, or if they could only be purchased in Hawaii. When she replied and said that they could ONLY be found in Hawaii, that non of the Starbucks in states on the mainland could get them, he immediately had them load it with $50 for me and handed it to me with an “I’m-such-a-good-husband” look on his face![]()
I love it so much that I think any balance I have on any other Starbucks card is going to have to be tranferred to this one so that I can use it forever![]()

And this was just an incredibly happy ending to our incredible vacation. Leslie surprised me with a Tiffany gift as we were headed to the airport…she is crazy. She is an amazing friend, client and…did I mention friend? She is so much fun to be with, and we are so thankful to know her (and her awesome family).
When she walked in with a Tiffany bag, I ran over, excited to see what she’d gotten…and soon realized that she was handing the bag to me! Whaaaaat??? Rich grabbed these photos of my reaction.

I’d never held one of THESE before![]()

Leslie putting my new Tiffany necklace on me! She is one of those people who are so happy just by making someone else happy.

I love it and am pretty much going to wear it with everything. Leslie said she thought of me when she saw it because it was dainty and feminine. I’ll take those descriptive words anytime.![]()
Leslie (and Leigh, Brittany, and Travis) you guys rock. We had the most amazing time with you in Hawaii and we can’t wait for the next photography-infused vacation to spend a week with you all! And to Leslie specifically, thank you so much for your insane generosity and for making me feel special
We love you.
