Ah, it would be impossible to explain just how excited I get about snow. Now, I am well aware that the reason I get so giddy is because I’ve never lived anywhere that gets regular (much less heavy) snowfall. Between East Texas, Southern California, South Florida, and Southeast Tennessee, snow has been intermittent and often-desired in the places I’ve lived.
I’m pretty sure that I wouldn’t love snow nearly as much if I had to deal with shoveling the driveway, closed roads, cancelled flights, blizzards, and the like. For me, snow is a novelty. It’s always come and gone too fast, and I’ve always been very excited to see it.
I have amazing memories from going to Lake Tahoe and sledding while growing up in California (broken hand and all), occasional snow days in Texas, a couple of ski trips to Colorado over the years, and well, I just love it when it snows here in Tennessee.
Yesterday morning, we woke to this sight: our front yard covered in beautiful white snow
The first word out of Alana’s mouth was “mountains?” because her only exposure to snow thus far is from our recent trip to Wyoming! It was so much fun to go outside and play in the snow in our own from yard! Alana LOVED it!

Check out the snowball that is hitting Alana as I took this photo!

So she prepares to retaliate![]()

She threw her snowball back at Rich but it was such a quick, tiny little throw that I couldn’t capture it![]()

Then Rich decided that it would be a good idea to try to maul me with a snowball while I was taking photos:

Look how menacing!

This was his reaction when he nailed me in the side of the head:

And this is when he realized that gloves would have been a wonderful idea. Pelting family members with snowballs with bare hands can really take a toll![]()
I would have felt sympathy for him if I hadn’t been busy scraping snow off my face.

Daddy-daughter dialogue…

Tisses:

My stud. Mine.![]()

I love these two photos. And these two people.![]()

Then Rich finished with a couple more that I adore.

Happy, happy Sunday everyone! And happy December!
