christmas part 2: christmas eve!

For Christmas Eve, we went to the Calvary Chapel Christmas Eve Service. A few years back we used to have the service at our local NFL Miami Dolphins Stadium and it was a huge, very amazing church production. But for the past two years things have been pared down for various reasons. Now the services are held on the church’s campus and, while a bit more minimal, are still special and enjoyable.

We started off by taking a few photos at a huge tree before service. Alana was mildly cooperative, looking in the general direction of the camera but refusing to look AT the camera:)

The girls…looking a bit ridiculous because of the strong wind!

Thank you to Amber for our little family photo! And on the right is a photo of Alana at the manger scene, complete with real goats, sheep, and a donkey:)Some kids were posing as Mary and Joseph and there was a sweet little baby in place to represent Baby Jesus.:)

This photo is really horrible because Alana’s face is blurry, but I’m blogging it because poor little Alana is standing in line for the two year old nursery, looking so distressed. She is so cautious, so when we are in a new situation she gets nervous very easily. Rich and I had to go get her during the service last time we were down, and this time turned out to be no exception. She was bawling and hyperventilating when we came to get her and actually took several minutes to calm down. SO SAD. It really gets to me because I’m pretty sure she thinks we are deserting her. Being two must be so hard!
