fall family session at walnut hill farm!

I love our annual photo shoots. They’re such a fun time together and also they capture life at each stage of our journey and show how much the girls are changing from year to year! Hopefully Rich and I aren’t changing TOO much from year to year – but if we are, please don’t tell us!

For this year’s Christmas cards, because we were short on time and not very organized, we went ahead and grabbed our tripod and went to one of our absolute favorite places to photograph weddings, Walnut Hill Farm!

I always encourage people to hire professional photographers for their photo shoots, because it’s virtually impossible to capture the same natural family interactions on your own that a professional could. But since we put our photo scheduling efforts into our recent tenth anniversary photo shoot with the Bambers, we just needed a quick and convenient solution for Christmas cards this year. So, even though I don’t love these images as much as I would if we’d had an official session with a photographer friend, we still enjoyed doing our best with the tripod and Rich and I switched on and off with the camera!

So, here are our favorites from our fall family session 2014, by us and our tripod, and featured on this years’ Christmas cards! Designing and ordering Christmas cards each year is one of my all time favorite things to do, so I can’t wait to get them ordered and printed! I always set aside a couple of cards each year for us to keep and the girls love to look through our collection!
