Today was our first style project in SO long! I can’t believe that the last time I had Sierra in the photo booth was for this outerwear project back in 2014! Time flies, particularly when a person is busy raising children, homeschooling, and running a photography business 🙂
We finished school early today, dinner was in the crockpot (thank you, amazing husband) and the girls were jumping up and down with excitement that I was setting up the photo booth for some style fun.
For this project, my goal was simple: Mix and match the items in Sierra’s closet to find different outfit combinations for this one little black dress from Old Navy. As with my other style projects, I did not buy anything new but challenged myself to use what we already have to create fresh new outfits.
Sierra turned 5 in December, and if your preschooler is anything like mine, she likes to dress herself. Which, as cute as that can be, it can also yield some, umm, peculiar outfits. And many days of the SAME outfits, like that tutu that she likes to put on day after day after day with that clashing striped shawl as if there is nothing else noteworthy in her closet. So, since I typically let her dress herself and leave the house looking like a cross between a princess and a vagabond, these style projects are this mama’s way of taking back two hours of fashion control and curating some combos that I deem Pinterest worthy 🙂
And so, if you’re looking for a little bit of inspiration, maybe you’ll see something here that makes you feel like you, too, can revive your child’s closet with just a little bit of effort and creativity.
