So a few years ago, after I had done my chambray shirt project, I followed up by doing one of Alana and Sierra. I liked both girls’ projects with their shirts, but have always preferred Sierra’s version because I like the lighter chambray more than the darker one that Alana had at the time.
For the past year, Alana has had a lighter chambray shirt in her closet (from GapKids) and she has worn it in several adorable and stylish ways. And since I like this lighter version even better than the original shirt we used, Alana and I decided to give it another go! So here is her newer, updated, 8 year old version of a chambray shirt style project! We came up with several outfits with this one shirt and I’m so glad we did – it is so much fun to shop our own closets and realize that, with a little effort and creativity, we can mix and match some fresh outfits!
We had a blast taking photos yesterday. The amazing Rich Smith Photography, who I have the privilege of being married to, even set up the camera in a new and exciting way for me. I typically set up the photo booth and shoot with our Canon 5D mark II by hand. But he allowed me to shoot, wirelessly, using CamRanger software on the iPad. Which means that all I had to do to capture these images was push a button on the iPad – which means that it was easy enough for our 5 year old Sierra to do. So, this photo booth, more than ever, was a collaborative effort between me and the girls. It was too much fun to have been able to help Alana with her poses while Sierra and I took turns capturing the images.
And so, enjoy Alana’s newest version of ways to utilize ONE adorable chambray shirt in your girls’ closet to create lots of cute, simple, stylish looks! What do you think? Do you prefer her earlier version with darker denim, or this version on the lighter side?
