Alana’s Red Rain Boots Project!

So If you’ve been following along with my styles projects for any amount of time, you’re aware that I get an irresistible urge to do one of these projects for each of my girls about once per year. Strangely enough, it’s a creative outlet for me and ideas hop into my brain that I feel compelled to make into a reality; maybe the way an artist would feel led to paint a new scene. When I recently looked back at my most recent projects (Alana’s Chambray Shirt Project and Sierra’s Little Black Dress Project), sure enough, it was a year ago this month! I’m nothing if not predictable.

Alana loves my grey Hunter rain boots that I bought with some birthday money several years ago, and after hearing me talk about what fantastic quality rain boots they are, she asked for a pair for Christmas. I love Zappos fast shipping and amazing customer service (and I had coupons/rewards!) and got her this pair for less than half price! She was SO excited to get them! She loves the pop of color they add to an outfit, and whenever we’ve had a rainy day, she’s been prepared! I bought them a couple of sizes too big so that she will be able to wear them for a couple of years before handing them down to her little sister who will more than happily accept them!

This project was a bit different than any of our previous projects because the one item we used to create all of these different looks was a pair of shoes. In the past we’ve always used an article of clothing, so this was a fun new challenge. I just kept thinking, wow, these rain boots are SO cute, they are SO versatile, and I wonder how many cute outfits we could mix and match for a photo booth style project?

I think these 18 outfits are such a cute, simple way to look put together and stylish while wearing Hunters for rain or snow. Oh, how cute they’ll be in the snow!

So, enjoy our latest attempt at shopping 9-year-old Alana’s closet and stay tuned for 6-year-old Sierra’s yellow rain boots project; up next!
